We are pleased to continue to work with local schools and Sawbridgeworth Town Council in support of local and national initiatives relating to road safety and safer routes to school.

National Clean Air Day - 15th June 2017

Do you park outside your school and leave the engine idling?

Hertfordshire County Council and East Herts District Council are leading work with other district authorities to promote the National Clean Air Day. This is an opportunity for us to encourage more children/parents to travel to school sustainably, or if you have to drive ensure that engines are turned off when outside school.

We would like as many  parents and carers as possible to switch off their engines and help improve the air quality around school. Air quality affects everyone’s health especially children because their lungs are still developing.

The Campaign - Turn your key be idle free

Don’t leave cars idling or ‘ticking over’ especially near schools
