Fundraising for Australian Bush Animals

Global Goal -13 Climate Action

As part of our half term's focus, the Global Action Team helped the school to become more aware of climate action and the effect that we all have on world's climate. As part of this, we all became concerned about the catastrophic fires in Australia, after the worst drought in their history and record high temperatures which have taken a tragic toll on native wildlife and habitats. They wanted to help give aid to restore the environment and its inhabitants.

The Global Action Team arranged a day for the school to arrive in their own sporty clothes and a running challenge to run as far as they could in set time. Everyone in our school participated fully with everyone even in Reception ran 1k, most over 3k. I am proud that the school raised £196 which will support WIRES (Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc.) in Australia. WIRES have a mission to actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife and inspire others to do the same.
