Teaching Team

Mrs C Cousins BA (Hons)
Headteacher
Designated Safeguarding Lead
I am extremely excited to be the new Headteacher of Spellbrook C of E Primary School. With 24 years of teaching experience, I have been fortunate to work across all Key Stages, which has given me a broad understanding of children's learning journeys. I have a strong passion for reading, writing and maths and a deep commitment in supporting every child as they grow, learn, and thrive. I am really looking forward to getting to know all the children, families, and staff over the coming year and working together to continue making Spellbrook a happy, nurturing, and successful school.

I look forward to getting to know you and your children over the coming years.

Mrs R-G McDonald BSc (Hons)
Sapphire Class Teacher (4 days per week)
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
I will be teaching Sapphire Class this year again this year. I was very lucky to undertake my teacher training at Spellbrook over 10 years ago before teaching at other local schools. I have taught across KS1 and KS2 but I am thrilled to be back teaching KS1 again. I particularly love teaching this age group as their emerging writing develops, and they start to build connections with the world around them.

Miss J Green BA (Hons) PGCE
Ruby Class teacher
I have been teaching for over ten years and have taught in both early years and KS1. I began my teaching career at Spellbrook Primary school as maternity cover and was eager to return after one year away.
My passion is based in early years education and using the outdoor environment to learn.
My favourite part of teaching is that every day is different and I love bringing lessons to life with investigations and props.

Mrs C Smith BEd PGCE
SENCO (working days Monday and Tuesday)
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
I have been a teacher at Spellbrook for a number of years working with all age groups. I now support children with additional needs and their families to ensure they thrive in our community.
Please get in touch if you wish to discuss your child's needs.

Mrs J Tracey BA (Hons) PGCE

I am looking forward to teaching Emerald class this year.
I originally trained as an RE secondary teacher but after a career break to have my three children I transferred to primary. I have now been teaching primary, across both KS1 and KS2, for over 5 years in Merseyside and East Hertfordshire.
I have a passion for RE and sport, however I am looking forward to our history topics in Emerald Class as they are some of my favourite eras.
