Dear Parents and Children,
I hope that you all had a lovely half term and managed to make the most of the beautiful weather. This half term will be slightly different as we will be welcoming back our Year 1s on a Thursday and Friday. I will continue to provide timetables for both year groups here on our class page. This week is Summer Term Week 6. For the children that will be coming back to school, I will also follow the weekly timetable and support the children in class so that they can complete the sequence of learning that they will have started at home on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Word of the Day will continue on Purple Mash and there will still be 2Dos set however there may be less 2Dos than usual as we are close to using up appropriate activities for KS1. Of course, feel free to repeat games that were particularly useful/enjoyable by clicking on the games button or by searching in the search bar. If you would like to access more online educational games, https://www.topmarks.co.uk/ has some great games and links. Please do continue with Numbots and Times Tables Rock Stars as well.
I have decided to skip a week on the White Rose Maths lessons, firstly so that we are on track with the same week as them and can start at Week 6 (it will make it easier to find the right lessons), and secondly as I feel like we have covered the Week 5 content enough already. Year 1s will have skipped a week on measurement and Year 2s will have skipped a week on multiplication with a focus on the 2 and 5 times table. If you feel like your child would benefit from doing these lessons as well, I have put the worksheets in the Maths section of each year group’s page. For the Year 1s maths lessons this week you will need to click on the video links in the timetable or click on ‘already covered this content’ on the White Rose website to find links to the videos needed for this week's lessons on 2D and 3D shapes.
As always, please do contact me using the class email address if you have any queries or work to share however please bear in mind that I will be in class on Thursdays and Fridays so won’t be able to reply until the afternoon.
